To contribute to the discussion regarding the challenges facing Education and Culture today in terms of either permanence or change in representations or social practices during times of crisis, or both, we interviewed Prof. Jorge Correia Jesuíno, on July 15, 2021. We are deeply grateful to him for the dialogue and exchanges of undeniable interest that go beyond the academic field. To address this issue, we examine matters relevant to the context of political, sociocultural, and economic transformations, which occur in such complex and challenging times of neoliberalism and pandemic in the world and, in particular, in Brazil.
